1. The first step is to install the TextNow app from either PlayStore or App Store into your device. Once installed, follow the rest of the steps. 
2. Now, open the app on your device and then, complete the setup as required. Once the app is set up completely, you will see your virtual number, you need to note that down for further use. Just in case, you are unable to see a number by TextNow then, follow these steps: open app > click on the icon with three lines located at the top left corner of your device > you will be able to see the number now. 
3. Now, open WhatsApp and then, enter the TextNow number that you noted down earlier along with your country code, for example (+91) for India.  
4. WhatsApp will now verify the number by sending you an SMS, wait for at least 2 minutes for the verification to fail and then, click on the ‘Call me’ option.
5. Go back to the TextNow app, there you will be receiving a call from WhatsApp, an automated voice will tell you the verification code. Note the code down and come back to WhatsApp. 
6. And finally, enter the code that you received from the call to complete the verification process. Your WhatsApp is now all set to be used without your original phone number.
